Northern Lights Activity and Whales

It is possible that Northern Lights activity caused the Andarnejn beach in Engey, but the first Northern Lights of the season were seen over Reykjavík the night before.
It was recently reported on Spaceweather.com that the magnetic disturbances that accompany Northern Lights activity can disrupt the built-in compasses of various wild animals, including whales, often with similar consequences as in Engey on August 16 last.
